Trump’s Approval Rating Just Hit A Stunning All-Time Low

Per a new Pew Research Center poll, Trump’s approval ratings have continued their downward trend, once again hitting an all-time low.

The national poll finds that only 32 percent of Americans polled approve of how Trump is handling the presidency, while 63 percent disapprove.

His approval rating is two points down from the previous Pew Research Center poll taken in October. His approval ratings were as high as 39 percent in February, just after Trump took office.

His disapproval rating of 63 percent, too, is the highest mark since Pew began measuring the metric during Trump’s tenure, growing from 59 percent in the October survey.

While Trump’s dismal approval rating among Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters has remained constant at about 7 percent, it’s his numbers with his core supporters that are most troubling for the President.

Perhaps most tellingly, Trump’s approval rating among Republicans and Republican-leaning voters has dropped from 84 percent when he took office to 76 percent in the newest poll. Within his key voter blocs, Trump has lost the support of a myriad of different groups, including white Americans (from 49 percent to 41 percent) and white evangelical Protestants (78 percent to 61 percent).

In another metric certain to infuriate the President, Trump has the lowest approval rating at this point in his presidency than any of his recent predecessors. Obama had a 49 percent approval rating at this point in 2009, Bush had an 80 percent approval rating in 2001 immediately following the September 11th terror attacks, and even Clinton – the next lowest – held a 48 percent approval rating in 1993, 16 points higher than Trump.

Trump promised his supporters that they would be “tired of winning.” With zero legislative accomplishments to boast of, a decimated reputation in the international community, nuclear war on the horizon, a middle and lower class about to be pummeled by tax increases and limited access to health care, and a President staring down the barrel of an increasingly troubling investigation into his nefarious dealings, Americans are certainly tired of something, but winning has nothing to do with it.
