Trump Just Tried To Take Credit For Thanksgiving Traffic Conditions On Twitter

Despite his promises to “not be a president that takes time off,” Trump is currently on Twitter live-tweeting traffic updates from Fox News, complete with a characteristic typo.

Of course, Trump rarely cites any positive development without appropriating credit for it. In this case, while still a stretch, it’s unlikely that Trump doesn’t believe he is responsible for smooth traffic conditions on roads and at airports.

Whether it is really the President of the United States’ best use of time, however, to report on traffic conditions for the Thanksgiving holiday is doubtful.

While Trump himself took to Twitter yesterday to assure the American people that his trip to Mar-a-Lago would be a “working vacation,” his press pool quickly confirmed that he would be spending the day playing 18 holes of golf.

Of course, the silver lining was that at least golfing kept Trump off of Twitter and momentarily precluded him from launching targeted, petty attacks on American citizens.

In the meantime, Trump would be well-served to put his phone down and learn to govern. With zero major legislative accomplishments to boast of, dismal approval ratings, and a wave a Democratic candidates primed to pick off Republicans in the 2018 midterms, traffic conditions should be the last thing on his mind.
