Trump Just Stole Public Land. Patagonia’s Response Is EPIC

President Trump doesn’t care about anything except the almighty dollar.  Today provided a stark example of that fact, with the Commander-in-Thief selling off more than half the protected land in Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears national monuments to mining companies.

In retaliation, popular outdoor retailer Patagonia took an unprecedented step by making their entire front page a call-to-action for all decent Americans to stand up to Trump, his Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, and Republican Utah Senator Orrin Hatch.

In giant lettering, the page reads: “The President Stole Your Land.”  It goes on to explain:

In an illegal move, the president just reduced the size of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. This is the largest elimination of protected land in American history.

When you click the button that says, “Learn More,” the link takes you to a page that is identical, except for the button on the bottom, which reads, “Take Action.”

Clicking the “Take Action” button takes you to a page with pre-written tweets to Trump, Zinke and Hatch standing up for public lands, designating today’s rapacious move a #MonumentalMistake.

Moral corporate leadership like that taken today by Patagonia may be one of the only ways to get through to a kleptocratic corporatist government that only cares about the opinions of shareholders and big donors, not the democratic voices that elected them.

Together, as consumers, we can purchase goods from big companies that care to thank them for speaking truth to power.  And companies that support this heartless regime, we can boycott.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!
