Trump Just Insulted The FBI On Twitter. The FBI’s Response Is PERFECT

Beginning last night, Trump took to Twitter to slam the FBI in a series of tweets on the heels of special counselor Robert Mueller’s bombshell charge against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The FBI Agents Association saw the President’s baseless attacks and quickly issued a statement of their own.

With his misguided attack on the nonpartisan agency, Trump has drawn the ire of much of the intelligence community. Even ex-FBI Director James also issued a response today on behalf of his former agency.

This is not the first time that Trump has tried to spin an independent federal entity as partisan simply because it is not blindly loyal to his agenda. Comey himself was subject to the infamous Trump “loyalty pledge” almost immediately after Trump took office. He testified in front of Congress in June, 2017, where he revealed that Trump had pressed him to end the FBI’s investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

“I hope you can let this go,” the President told Mr. Comey, according to a memo that he wrote shortly after his meeting.

Flynn, of course, was a primary focus of the investigation as it changed hands from Comey to Mueller. On Friday, Mueller finally charged former national security adviser with “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI.
The fact that Flynn only faced a single charge suggests that the disgraced former national security adviser has been cooperating with or has already provided Mueller with information.

Flynn’s charge and subsequent guilty plea comes only weeks after previous charges were levied against three of Trump’s former aides, including former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, his longtime associate and former campaign adviser Rick Gates, and former foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and has been cooperating with investigators.

Despite Trump’s insistence that the FBI is “tainted,” he should look no further than the White House for an example of the most egregious corruption in Washington, D.C.
