After a Florida rally in which President Trump attacked victims of sexual assault and undermined the institutions of the very country he ostensibly leads, he took to Twitter and, as he so often does, he lowered himself even deeper into disgrace. (Tweet below.)
But today, he went from making excuses to sounding a battle cry of racist hate.
With pictures of himself before a proudly white and Christian crowd, the President of the United States declared via Twitter that this is “your land, your home,” and he told them that it is their “voice that matters most” — a not so subtle wink to the people in the photos, and those like them, that he considers white Christians to be the all-important owners of our country.
Then he called on them to “fight, fight, fight.” He doesn’t directly say who he wants America’s white Christians to fight against, but for his bigoted followers there will be little question. Anything that they see as a threat to their dominance.
Trump’s words are sure to inspire increased hate and the subsequent fighting that he explicitly called for. This president is truly the white supremacist-in-chief, and it’s long past time that our spineless Republican Congress held him to account.
This is your land, this is your home, and it's your voice that matters the most. So speak up, be heard, and fight, fight, fight for the change you've been waiting for your entire life!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and THANK YOU Pensacola, Florida! pic.twitter.com/geWGzpzRp6
