Trump Just Demanded The NFL Take ‘Control’ Of Black Athletes In Racist Tweet

Former National Security Advisor Michale Flynn is reportedly singing like a canary to Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s team, so what does that mean? DISTRACTION TIME!

To keep the attention elsewhere, Donald Trump decided to up the ante on his feud with the NFL, through a tweet, of course.

We’ve heard this all before. Trump purposefully attacking the perfectly legal free-speech of the NFL players, who by this point everyone knows are simply protesting police brutality against people of color and their subsequent unequal treatment by the justice system.

Trump is trying to brand the NFL players’ protest with the taint of unpatriotic behavior when it has nothing whatsoever to do with the flag. The non-violent protest of taking the knee is, in fact, the most patriotic thing these players can do for their country, point out its failures and attempt to have them rectified by bringing attention to them.

This attack on NFL players is an updated rerun of the Jim Crow era maxim: let’s keep these rebellious black and brown people in their place. Trump’s manipulative appeal to the NFL owners, telling them that these uppity players are threatening their control of their league, is the same message he’s sending to the white supremacists in his base: these people should be grateful that they have jobs at all, they’re stealing your jobs, they don’t know their proper place, under our subjugation.

So Trump sends another tweet. His base gets all riled up. And we’re all so busy ether attacking him for it or agreeing with him that we ignore the news of the treasonous acts of his administration, all the regulations that they are eliminating that will help corporations and billionaires profit while our environment is destroyed, and the tax cut giveaway to the already wealthy that will cost the rest of the nation their healthcare and eventually actually raise their taxes.

Just another day in the Trump administration.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!
