This morning, President Trump displayed his true allegiances once again for all the world to see when he decided to side with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin over the collective agreement of the American intelligence committee on the question of whether or not the Russians interfered in the 2016 election.
“Every time he sees me he says I didn’t do that, and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it. I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country” said Trump of his Russian counterpart after they met at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Trump then went on to trash the heads of American intelligence agencies for being “political hacks” and insinuating that their strenuous efforts to defend our nation from foreign electronic warfare were just part of a larger plot to smear himself.
“I mean, give me a break — they’re political hacks,” Trump said. “You have [former CIA director John] Brennan, you have [former Director of National Intelligence James] Clapper, and you have [former FBI director James] Comey. Comey’s proven now to be a liar, and he’s proven to be a leaker, so you look at that. And you have President Putin very strongly, vehemently says he had nothing to do with that.”
“Everybody knows there was no collusion. I think it’s a shame that something like this can destroy a very important potential relationship between two countries that are very important countries Russia could really help us.”
