Last week, it was revealed by The New York Times that Hollywood mega-producer Harvey Weinstein has been sexually harassing, abusing, and raping women, including several famous actresses, for the past three decades. It’s a story of disgusting, stunning predation and it led to the firing of Weinstein from his own company.
Republicans, opportunists that they are, have seized upon the story and are using it a cudgel to hit the left, slamming Democrats because Weinstein had helped raise money for Democratic candidates in the past. As soon as the story broke, Democrats were quick to condemn Weinstein and get rid of his donations by giving them to charities.
It’s in these details that we see a key difference between the two parties. Democrats disavow and reject sexual predators, Republicans help elect one to the presidency.
The stunning hypocrisy of Republicans attacking Democrats for “shielding” sex offenders while Donald J. Trump sits in the Oval Office is a level of cognitive dissonance that could only exist in the hyper-polarized world of 2017. Donald Trump Jr. has been relishing the whole sordid affair, repeatedly bringing up the Weinstein scandal on Twitter to tarnish Democrats.
Maybe Hollywood will finally end their BS lectures & go back to doing what they do best… pretending to be something they're not. Oh wait.

Interesting. Will Michael Moore denounce Harvey Weinstein??? Haven't heard anything yet. Like other Limo Libs $$$ > principals https://t.co/h1KFRMFreo

Weird, Hillary has been really quiet about Harvey Weinstein. You would think she would be all Over this. #WhatHappened?

Today, actor Seth Rogen decided that he’d had enough. He sent a direct message to Junior’s Twitter account and, employing his signature wit, sarcastically shredded the vile Republican double standard.

The parting shot is a reference to Trump Jr.’s well-documented taste for big-game hunting.
Rogen has previously voiced his support for Weinstein’s victim. Which is exactly what any decent person should do. These horrible crimes should inspire left and right alike to rally around those affected by them, not entice them to use the suffering of others for political gain.
I believe all the women coming forward about Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment. It takes bravery to do so.

While it seems unlikely that Donald Trump Jr. will respond to Rogen, the silence speaks for itself. He has no rebuttal to people who point out that his father is a despicable sexual assaulter and rapist for one simple fact: it’s true.
