In a decidedly misguided move, Newsweek published an article featuring the opinion of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, an admitted child molester and pedophile.
— Newsweek (@Newsweek) October 12, 2017
Hastert, who was called a “serial child molester” by a federal judge and was forced to register as a sex offender after admitting to abusing boys as a high school wrestling coach, was released from prison this summer after serving a 13-month sentence for a bank fraud conviction for hush money to buy the silence of a former child abuse victim.
Newsweek’s decision to feature a sexual abuser is especially egregious given the recent bombshell surrounding Harvey Weinstein. For the magazine to condemn Weinstein and then seek normalize Hastert in the same breath is horrendously misguided.
Twitter, for its part, instantly struck back at Newsweek for its tacit support of a child molester.
Newsweek, he raped children. I will not read this. He is still in jail right? What's next? Sandusky's opinion on the 4-3 defense?

If it's not related to pedophilia why are ppl talking to Hastert?

A pederast who went to prison for his crimes — now the sensible voice of Republican elder statesmen. https://t.co/1XLXp60GhU
