ISIS Have Just Claimed Responsibility For The Las Vegas Massacre

Last night Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire on festival-goers attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on the Las Vegas strip.

Paddock killed over 50 people and wounded a further 200 with an extensive array of weapons. Paddock was perched on the 3snd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino and hotel.

Now, in a stunning twist, ISIS, also known as Daesh or the Islamic State, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a statement by the group’s Amaq propaganda agency, the terrorist group stated:

The Las Vegas attacker is a soldier of the Islamic State in response to calls to target coalition countries.

They allege that Stephen Paddock converted to Islam “several months ago.”

The wording used by ISIS suggests that, instead of belonging to the group, Paddock was inspired by their actions rather than directed by specific orders.

THe claim, which cannot be independently verified, came days after ISIS released a recording of their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who praised jihadis attempting to retake the city of Mosul.

Baghdadi was supposedly killed by a Russian airstrike weeks ago. He urged followers to “intensify one attack after another against the infidels”, following a spike in global terror attacks.

It must be said that this claim of responsibility is very suspicious, and in all likelihood isn’t true. Unless Paddock wrote some sort of elaborate manifesto, it’s likely that we’ll never know why he committed these horrific acts.

This mystery suits ISIS’ agenda and makes it easy for them to paint their ideals onto a dead man.

While it might be true, it would be prudent to take this story with a pinch of salt.
