This weekend, Trump made headlines by launching a new attack on CNN International, claiming that the news outlet represents “our Nation to the WORLD very poorly.”
.@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!

Upon seeing the President’s egregious attack on this nation’s free press, retired U.S. Air Force General Michael Hayden, who later served as the Director of the CIA and NSA, issued a scathing rebuke on Twitter.
If this is who we are or who we are becoming, I have wasted 40 years of my life. Until now it was not possible for me to conceive of an American President capable of such an outrageous assault on truth, a free press or the first amendment.

While Trump may placate himself by lashing out at a network that holds him accountable, he is decimating not only this country’s values, but rending meaningless the sacrifice of thousands of service members who fought to protect them.
This weekend’s attack on CNN is only the latest in a slew of tirades launched against what he has previously called “the enemy of the American people.”

The only network spared from him constant assaults is Fox News, which has operated like state propaganda in blind devotion to the President and his increasingly hostile and unpopular agenda.
Nearly a full year into Trump’s term, it’s clear that the President cares only for loyalty, and he is more than willing to dismantle this nation’s core institutions in pursuit of it.
