One of President Trump’s most reliable media critics just responded to his latest tweet with a bit of sage advice and wisdom.
Former CBS news anchor and eminence grise of the journalism field Dan Rather saw this tweet about Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) from Trump this afternoon:
Sen. Jeff Flake(y), who is unelectable in the Great State of Arizona (quit race, anemic polls) was caught (purposely) on “mike” saying bad things about your favorite President. He’ll be a NO on tax cuts because his political career anyway is “toast.”

Rather took one look at it and knew that it was the sign of a politician so misguided in his instincts, that he felt compelled to offer the President some counsel and guidance before he tweeted out any further damning messages.
The savvy politician knows to sometimes bite his tongue (or not twitch his Twitter finger). Alienating @JeffFlake on a tax bill already facing an uphill fight doesn't seem to be the product of a savvy politician. https://t.co/1gsLwOj8zn

Dan Rather, ladies and gentlemen, the master of understatement!
