A prominent Fox News reporter and sex predator excuser just got accused of sexual assault and drugging by an Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award-winning entertainer in her #metoo post on Twitter.
Bette Midler accused Geraldo Rivera and his producer of sex assault during an interview in the early 1990s with legendary journalist Barabara Walters, which she posted for the first time today. (embedded below)
“Tomorrow is my birthday. I feel like this video was a gift from the universe to me,” Midler tweeted, “Geraldo may have apologized for his tweets supporting Matt Lauer, but he has yet to apologize for this.” This is what she told ABC’s Walters:
“Geraldo and his producer came to do an interview with me in the 70s, the early 70s, and – this is when he was very sort of hot – and he and his producer left the crew in the other room. They pushed me into my bathroom and broke two poppers and pushed them under my nose and proceeded to grope me.
“I did not offer myself up, on the altar of Geraldo Rivera. He was unseemly, his behavior was unseemly.”
“I’ll tell you the truth. If I had known he was going to be so, 20 years later he was going to wind up a slimy talk show host, I would’ve never let him in the room. You never know at the time if these things are gonna come back to haunt you.”
“Poppers” are a 70s club drug, which when inhaled produce a short-term euphoria and muscle relaxation, and Geraldo Rivera had used them to stun and fondle the recording artist under the pretense of getting an interview.
Sadly, in that bygone era, ABC’s Barbara Walters’ only reaction to Rivera drugging and assaulting the world-famous actress was to say ‘let’s move on.’
Geraldo Rivera made headlines yesterday when he tweeted a hideous defense of fired NBC anchor Matt Lauer.
One of the five-times-married Rivera’s lesser publicized tweets in defense of Lauer seems far more self-serving in light of Midler’s revelatory video.
#SexHarassment allegations should require: 1-made in a timely fashion-say w/n 5 yrs. 2-some contemporaneous corroboration, like witnesses, electronic or written communications. W $ settlements in multi-millions slight chance exists some victims are motivated by more than justice

Bette Midler has been a national entertainer for 47-years and certainly doesn’t need any money from Rivera.
Known then as just “Geraldo,” he was a rising journalistic star in the early 70s, who won a Peabody Award working for ABC while getting away with his sex assault for four long decades, for two decades until Midler admitted the embarrassing story to anyone.
Midler went public with her claim 25 years ago, only to have it ignored by the very same mainstream media company where Rivera’s star was born.
Today’s news that Geraldo Rivera not only sexually assaulted a superstar entertainer but used drugs to do it, and did so with his own news producer with others in a nearby room, makes today the ideal day to give the “sexual deviant” Fox News reporter “what is coming” to him.
A pink slip.
