In an interview with ABC 33/40 News’ Lauren Walsh in Alabama, a man named Mike Ortiz – who dated Roy Moore’s accuser Leigh Corfman in 2009 – corroborated Corfman’s story, claiming that she told him while they were dating about the sexual encounter with Moore when she was 14-years-old.
Mike Ortiz says he dated Corfman (Roy Moore’s accuser) for 2 years around 2009.
He says during that time, she told him about a sexual encounter w/ Moore when she was young.
Again: Moore calls these claims “completely false & a desperate political attack.”#ALSen pic.twitter.com/T9iCDiIkJr

“I believed her—I believe her,” Ortiz said. “I think she always fought with whether to come out with it public or not, you know, internally with what she wanted to do with it, to let people know about it. But I believed her when she told me and I still believe her. She wouldn’t lie about something like that.”
Moore is accused of having engaged in sexual behavior with a 14-year-old girl when he was the 32-year-old assistant district attorney in 1979. The Washington Post article also recounts the stories of several other girls between the ages of 16 and 19 that Moore allegedly had sexual encounters with, all while he was in his 30s.
Moore, for his part, has denied the allegations as “fake news,” despite the fact that four women came forward with stories corroborated by 30 sources in a Pulitzer Prize-winning publication.
Earlier today, Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill (R) announced that he would honor a request to remove Roy Moore as the Republican Party’s nominee should they submit such a request.
In an interview with CNN “OutFront” host Erin Burnett, Merrill explained that in the event that the Republican party pull their support for Moore, while his name would remain on the ballot, he would not appear as a Republican.
If what Roy Moore is alleged to have done is in fact true, is it disqualifying? Erin Burnett asks that question to Alabama Secretary of State, John Merrill https://t.co/syREKPt4Ki pic.twitter.com/9fZ4lPaTJU

While Moore continues to defend himself and his actions in the face of an avalanche of irrefutable evidence, Republicans will have an opportunity to finally disavow yet another twisted individual, or support him to the detriment of what dwindling integrity their party has left.
